About
I’m Le Peng (also goes by Lauren). I build software with AI inside. Right now I’m doing my MSc in AI at HKUST.
What I’m into
- Tools and interfaces that help people make better decisions, not just faster ones.
- The boring infrastructure that makes AI products actually work in production, the part nobody tweets about.
- How technology re-shapes social life. (The reason my featured project is about post-pandemic loneliness, not AI productivity.)
- Writing things down. Reading other people’s notes. Pretending the difference between engineering and thinking isn’t a strict one.
What I’m not into
- AI demos that won’t run on Tuesday.
- Products that ask you to bond with them but don’t tell you what happens when the company runs out of money. (Which is also why I made a video paper about it.)
- Calling everything “AI-powered.”
Three semi-random facts
- I prefer Cantonese restaurants where the menu has more dishes than the wall has space for.
- I think the right way to test a hypothesis is to bet a friend a coffee on it.
- I’ve shipped more side projects than I’ve finished books, which is something I’m trying to fix.
Find me
LinkedIn is the main one. Otherwise I’m, by design, a little hard to find online.
